From floral to geometric, you get a little bit of everything.

This nice little novelty is not a FQ, but a 1/4 yard cut.  I still love it thought and think it would be great in any crafty themed project.

I love these ladies too, but I don't think they make many fabrics that I don't like :)

Giveaway 1 - Apron

The Giveaway is now closed!  Thank you to everyone who participated and left comments!

Oh my Gosh, Thank you to everyone who entered their recipe ideas in this giveaway.  There were so many great comments that it was extremely difficult to choose the winner.  In fact, I had to seek help, and the winner was chosen by a family and friends consensus.  It was tough to choose only one!

The winner is Victoria with her spinach cheese squares!  I look forward to hearing back from Victoria and posting her recipe here this coming week.

I'm so excited to be participating again in the Sew Mama Sew giveaway day.  It's always fun to get to meet other bloggers from all over the world and exchange ideas and insights.  I also find that it's a great way to find wonderful blogs that I haven't had the chance to follow yet.

This giveaway is for a cute little front tie half apron made of a great pink/orange umbrella fabric with a fully lined pocket and pintuck detailing along the waist band.  The giveaway will be open from Monday the 9th through the 13th, and I will be shipping internationally if the winner lives outside of the United States.

To enter this giveaway, please tell me about your favorite holiday dish; the one that if you didn't make it Christmas would just not be the same :)  It can be anything from a side item to a desert.  What is it and why do you love it.  The winner must be willing to share the recipe!!!

I will announce the winner on the 14th and then make and share their recipe on this blog :)

Forgive the pictures, my nine-year-old was stand in photographer since Daddy is on a work trip :)

This picture shows the pintucks in better detail.  I love the extra stiffness they give to the waistband fabric.

I love a tie front apron with extra long strings since it's so convenient for making an apron fit many different shaped bodies.

Thanks for visiting my blog.  Please feel free to browse around and visit my other projects and tutorials, and if you enjoy my projects, I'd love for you to become a follower (although it's not required to enter the giveaway).

Don't forget to leave your recipe comment below (be descriptive, tempt me!) and visit my other giveaway too.  Good Luck!

Let there be sewing machine light

Today I just want to quickly share a great giveaway with everyone.

100_1260

Ecolux Lighting is sponsoring Patricia, over at a A Yankee in Queen Liz's Court, with a LED sewing machine light giveaway!  I've seen these puppies at quilt shows, and I can honestly say that they really do put out a lot of light right where you need it.  It's not in my budget right now to buy one, but maybe I'll be the lucky winner, who knows, or maybe it will be you.  Patricia gives you three chances to win so it's worth the time to head over to her blog and enter the giveaway.

Good Luck!

Sew Mama Sew Giveaway Day!

Giveaway Now Closed

* Thanks to the Random Number Generator, we have a winner!!!

Nancy Sue

you are the winner of the Practically Pippy Sew Mama Sew giveaway! Congratulation.
Here is what Nancy is planning on making with her winnings:

"I have a 5 yr old son who would go ballistic with a quilt made with your fabric and a map on the back. I don't think he'd get a wink of sleep, as he'd probably end up switching the quilt back and forth, wanting to study the map!"

Welcome all Sew Mama Sew visitors to my little corner of the blogging world.  I'm so excited to be participating in the Sew Mama Sew giveaway this week.  I hope to meet some new and wonderful people and fellow bloggers this week.

Okay, I'm a bit late but I still want to share some sewing supply goodness with you.  This week, I will be giving away not 1, not 2, but 7 sample packs of Blank fabric's Heavy Metal collection.

IMG_9020

Each pack comes with 7 pieces of boy themed fabric.  Construction trucks, police, fire rescue, airplanes, and helicopters.  By adding a blender or solid sashing to these fabrics, you could have a nice lap sized boys quilt by New Years!  To make your project even easier, I have a great world map panel (1.5 yards) in primaries that would be an  excellent backing for your project.

IMG_9023

When I got these supplies, I had hoped to make a boy themed donation quilt for a local hospital's quilt drive.  I only was able to finish two quilts in time and never got around to finishing this last one.  Now, one lucky winner will get to make something out of these great fabrics!

Everyone has two ways to enter:
  1. Tell me what you plan to make with this fabric and who you are making it for in the comments below.
  2. Become a follower of my blog, and then write a separate comment letting me know.  If you are already a follower, just write a comment to let me know that you're already following my blog.
I will ship to the United States and Internationally.  Giveaway ends at 9 am PST on the 7th of December and a winner will be drawn at random later that day.  The winner must email me back within 48 hours or a new winner will be picked.  If you are a no-reply blogger, you must include your email so that I can contact you.  If I can't contact you, I will just pick a new winner.  Good luck to everyone.

Stale Stash Bounty

Wow, it's so good to be back home from vacation!  We had an incredible time in France with the kids, but I'm happy to be back home.  I have a ton to share with everyone about my trip and some great inspirational photos that I plan on posting, but today I'm going to do a little catching up.

DSCN1634

Last month I got to enjoy swapping out some of my fabrics with a few other bloggers out there.  When I got back this week, I had a few nice little packages waiting for me at the post office; it was like Christmas. I would like to thank Fiona at Celtic Thistle, Cheraldine at I Be's Cheraldine, and Dana at Drinking Fabric for swapping with me.  Most of this fabric will make it into my I spy quilt and the rest is going to find a home in a project that I'll be making in the future.

Pincushion of the Month Pattern and a Giveaway!

*Giveaway Now Closed*

Well, It's that time of the month where I start feeling a bit festive and want to spruce up my sewing area to reflect the season.  February is just around the corner, and who can resist those cute little candy conversation hearts.

DSCN9624a

Want some of that valentines cuteness for your sewing room with fewer calories, just make yourself this little candy heart pincushion.  To download the pattern click on this link Candy Heart Pincushion.  Make sure to download the original file to get it to print properly.

I really had a fun time making up this pattern to share with everyone, but I admit that I am not a professional pattern maker so I hope that my directions are clear and easy to understand.  It's a pretty straightforward little heart, but the curves might be challenging to a beginner.  I included a variety of candy heart sayings for you to choose from in the pattern.

Don't have time to make this pincushion yourself?  Why not WIN IT.  Just leave a comment on this post and you're signed up to win this pincushion!  I need at least 6 participants in order to do the giveaway so tell your friends to come by and sign-up too.  The giveaway opens today and closes at midnight on Saturday.  I'll announce the winner on Monday.

As always, I'd love to hear from anyone.  If you find a fault, problem, or need assistance just email me and I'll do my best to help you.

Happy Sewing :)
